Consular functions are bound by the Diplomatic and Consular Officers (Oaths and Fees) Act 1959 (Act 384) and International Agreements such as the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1962

To enable the High Commission of Malaysia, London to provide an optimum service or to disseminate information to Malaysians abroad, it is important that we know how to get in touch with you (for emergency purpose). Therefore, all Malaysians living abroad are encouraged to register themselves at the nearest Malaysian Embassy/High Commission. This requirement to register is clearly stated in the Malaysian International Passport. Malaysians who fail to register would face the risk of having their nationality revoked under Article 25(2) of the Federal Constitution.
