Registration of Birth

Malaysians born in the United Kingdom can be registered at High Commission of Malaysian, London on the conditions :

    - Father of the child is a Malaysian Citizen
    - Registration is made within one (1) year from the date of birth
    - Date of birth/age
    - Address in home country
    - Address of relative that can be contacted  

Apart from bringing the child to High Commission of Malaysia, London,documents required for registration are as follows (Original and 2 Copies) :

- Passports of parents (page No. 1, 2 and 3)
- Identification Cards of both parents. If the mother is not Malaysian Citizen then her passport will be used as an identity
- Malaysian Married Certificate
- Birth Certificates of parents
- Full Birth Certificate of the child with all the parent's detail
- Two (2) passport size photographs (the child)
- A self-addressed envelope (A4 size) with £1.50 pence stamps for the registered postage
- Registration Fee of £6.00 cash (Form W £2.00 + processing fee £4.00)

Note: The child MUST come together with the parent for the thumb prints to be taken. Form W (Malaysian Birth Certificate Overseas) will be issued by this Office. A copy will be sent to the National Registration Department of Malaysia for record purposes.

 

For LATE REGISTRATION -

For registration made beyond the period of one (1) year after the birth, the above process still applies.

A letter from the father explaining the reason for the delay in registering is required.

The child MUST come together with the parent for the thumb prints.
